Savannah, Georgia is loaded with great places to stay for all types of travelers from luxury and budget hotels, to boutique inns and haunted bed and breakfasts and even chic rental homes. You name it, Savannah has it. But if you’re looking to use your Chase Ultimate Rewards points at a hotel in Savannah, you have plenty of hotels to choose from. Chase partners with World of Hyatt, IHG One Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy so you can transfer your Ultimate Rewards points to your loyalty accounts with any of these three programs and book directly with the hotel for the best value.
I should note that you will always find the best value by transferring to Hyatt since points pricing is based on a fixed pricing award chart. Except for its Mr. and Mrs. Smith Collection, Hyatt categorizes its hotels in categories from 1 through 8 and each category has a set standard points price. This price will fluctuate up or down based on whether the night is off-peak or peak. As an example, a category 7 hotel will cost 30,000 points per night unless it’s an off-peak or on-peak night in which case it will cost 25,000 and 35,000 points, respectively. It’s best to use the points calendar option on Hyatt’s website to see how much each night of your stay will cost before transferring points.
Now, let’s dive into the best hotels to use your points at in Savannah, Georgia.
The JW Marriott is a newer hotel having opened in 2020 and is part of a large entertainment district located on the Savannah riverfront. Staying at the JW means there is no shortage of shops, restaurants, entertainment and even a 135-foot skeleton of a dinosaur. The hotel gives off a boutique-resort vibe in the heart of Savannah thanks to its Poseidon Spa, rooftop pool and bar, restaurants, shops and galleries. Marriott loyalists should definitely consider this hotel for their Savannah points trip.
Points cost: Marriott’s points price is based on dynamic pricing which means that pricing will vary based on a number of factors including demand and hotel brand. Therefore, it’s hard to say exactly how many points but pricing ranges from 50,000 points to 92,000 points per night. I recommend utilizing Marriott’s flexible dates options when searching which will allow you to see a calendar view of the points price for each night.

I am a sucker for Hyatt’s luxurious Thompson brand of hotels and this one does not disappoint. The Thompson Savannah has 162 rooms and is located right along the riverfront and boasts four on-property restaurants including a lobby bar, bakery and rooftop bar. You can also unwind in the hotel’s heated rooftop pool or lounge in the private, poolside cabanas. It’s a total urban oasis!
This is also a great choice if you’re traveling with pets as the hotel allows dogs to stay for free with some restrictions. You can view the property’s pet policy for more information.
The only downside to this property is that it’s located on the east side of town, a bit of a longer walk to the action compared to other Hyatt properties in Savannah like the Andaz and Hyatt Regency.

The greatest part of staying at the Andaz is that you can walk out the front door and be in the center of the action. Located at Ellis Square, the Andaz is centrally located to just about everything in Savannah including the riverfront, historic district and Forsyth Square.I felt the rooms were a bit small but if you only plan to be in the room to sleep, the Andaz is an excellent choice.

The Hyatt Regency is a less luxe option compared to the Thompson and Andaz but a great choice nonetheless. This hotel is perfect for families visiting the area as it’s located on the riverfront in the historic district with easy access to dining, shops and all the sites. The hotel offers cruiser bikes to its guests which is perfect for getting around to other parts of Savannah.

If you run an award search on the IHG website and the hotel comes up as having no availability on those dates, there will be a link that says “View Available Dates”. This Marriott property is located on River Street in Savannah and close to the Plant Riverside District where the JW is located. This is an excellent choice for travelers wanting to be near the hustle and bustle of the riverfront district but in a smaller, more boutique hotel. Lost Square is the rooftop bar at this property. The rooms have a contemporary design to them and king beds in all rooms. The hotel also provides bikes for use around town.
